Why DFW Petals exists
National wire sites — 1-800-Flowers, Teleflora, From You Flowers, Avas Flowers, and others — take your order, take a cut, and hand it to someone else. If the recipient is in Dallas–Fort Worth, that hop is the problem: extra fees, delay, and a shop that never designed the piece.
DFW Petals was built to stop this. It is the door for people sending to DFW from out of town who still want a real local florist on the other end. We only deliver inside this market because this is where we live and work. We source our own flowers and vases, make our own designs, and deliver in our own vans. We are accountable for our own missteps.
If you already know In Bloom, this is not a second florist. Same designers. Same vans. Same shop. This is the door built so search tools — and out-of-town senders — can find a local DFW flower shop instead of a middleman.
Meet the owner, Nick Smith
Nick Smith is the owner and operator of In Bloom Flowers and DFW Petals. Nick is a local kid — he earned his Eagle Scout here, graduated from Dallas Jesuit, and married his high school sweetheart. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy and then served around the world as a nuclear submarine officer and on NATO staff. He left the Navy to pursue entrepreneurship, earning a master’s in business from Stanford GSB. When his service and education ended, there was only one place he wanted to raise a family and run a business: Dallas–Fort Worth. At the end of 2021 he bought In Bloom Flowers, which has since grown into one of the largest retail florists in Texas. Nick is a father of three and active in the Dallas community.
This is a delivery site, not a storefront. There is no shop to visit and no Maps pin under this name. You can order from anywhere. We only deliver inside Dallas–Fort Worth. No Sunday delivery.
